Beauty and elegance came together in the heart of Europe and made Czech glass, also known as Bohemian, famous for its uniqueness and extraordinary quality. It became the decoration of choice in nearly every palace for centuries. Whether cut, blown or otherwise embellished, the sights of Roman Emperor Rudolf II, French king Louis XV or Empress Elizabeth the Great of Russia surely occasionally fell on its sparkling surface as they were shaping human history.
The brand Lasvit, founded in 2007 by Leon Jakimič, sheds a new light on Bohemian glass and takes it into the next millennium. Lasvit combines the authenticity of glass craft with innovative technologies and creative craftsmanship. In a few short years, Lasvit has established itself as the authority delivering bespoke lighting sculptures and art installations made from hand-blown glass.

LIFESAVER® – proud to be a product sponsor of the Taklamakan Anglo-Chinese Expedition.Taklamakan Anglo-Chinese Expedition 2017 Brochure
As Rosie Stancer prepares to embark on an expedition that will take her from her roots in polar exploration to a desert of a different kind, LIFESAVER®, the microbiological water filtration brand is proud to become a product sponsor of The Taklamakan Anglo-Chinese Expedition. This partnership will provide Rosie, her expedition team and her caravan of camels with a portable water filtration technology that will enable the team to filter their own supply of clean drinking water.
The capability of LIFESAVER® technology comes into its own within expedition environments where the dependency is high for large volumes of clean water for physical and mental performance, and for the TAC expedition, that means clean drinking water for Rosie and her camels. Unlike the polar environments that she is used to, known sources of plentiful clean water may be in question. This demands that any water source that can be dug within the desert can be collected, filtered instantly and stored without waiting or the need for chemicals such as chlorine or chlorine dioxide.
http://www.iconlifesaver.eu/ is a portable water filter that uses ultra filtration (UF) technology to filter out 99.99% of viruses, 99.9999% of bacteria and 99.9% of cysts. The technology does not require power or chemicals to work, and it filters large volumes of water instantly. The ability to store water dirty also has its advantages; it means the risk of secondary contamination of water is minimised, as users only filter water when they are ready to drink it, rather than having to decant it into another storage container that can become contaminated.
Icon Lifesaver is providing Team TAC with the LIFESAVER® bottle, jerrycan and cube. Each LIFESAVER® jerrycan will filter 20,000 litres of water before a replacement cartridge is required, and will store 18.5 litres at one time. The connection apertures on the jerrycan allow it to be strapped to vehicles and camels alike. The portable water filter bottle holds 750ml of water and will filter up to 6,000 litres. The team will carry replacement cartridges so that clean drinking water can be produced throughout the entirety of the 1000km journey.
Since 2007, LIFESAVER® water filters have been put to the test and proven in the toughest outdoor, humanitarian aid and military environments. For more information about LIFESAVER® and its global deployments, visit: “LIFESAVER®” :http://www.iconlifesaver.eu/
Rosie supports Veterans Aid, a charity that has been providing practical help to veterans in crises since 1932. Its unique pathway from welfare to wellbeing has turned around the lives of hundred of ex-servicemen and women in trouble. Rosie has particular empathy with those suffering from the after effects of conflict. She says,“After my own return from being alone on the frozen Arctic Ocean, and experiencing the terror of its violence, cruelty and unpredictability, I often felt as though I was in a war zone and it took along time to recover physiologically. My experiences aren’t comparable to those of war veterans, but I can relate to them. ‘VA’ deals with the challenges of every day life after service – and has an amazing success rate
